Math Resources
Below you will find a few resources that have been developed by the Cattauragus Allegany BOCES staff development team. They have sought out videos and other information that may be helpful. You may find it most beneficial to download the attachments to your desktop and then click on the live links that are in the documents. Many of these links are videos that demonstrate the strategies in the work your child may be bringing home.

Frequently Asked Questions:
If my child loses their homework, can I access a copy online?
Answer: Yes you can. By clicking on the Math Curriculum tab, to the left, you will be directed to a page that provides all of the materials for each grade level in mathematics. If you know what module and lesson your child was working on that week you should be able to click on the module and find the corresponding homework.
What is a module?
Answer: A module is a unit of material. Rather than having an entire textbook with units, chapters, and lessons, each grade level has modules divided by topics and lessons. Each grade level has several modules that are implemented throughout the year.
When I am looking at my child's homework is there a way to tell which module and lesson that is?
Answer: Yes there is. Below are a few pictures that you may find helpful. The labels at the top of the work your child brings home represent the type of assignment, grade level, and module number.

Is there a textbook to use to help my child with his or her homework?
Answer: No there is not a textbook; however, every homework assignment has a corresponding "problem set" that is typically your child's classwork and serves as the notes for the homework. Many teachers are sending these problem sets home with every homework assignment with "Notes" written on the top of each page. Every question in the problem set corresponds to a question in the homework (e.g. question #1 in the problem set resembles question #1 in the homework).
How can I help my child with his or her homework when I do not understand the new strategies in these modules?
Answer: The documents above contain many videos and websites to provide support. Please refer to your child's problem set examples in lieu of a textbook example that you were traditionally familiar with.
